When she’s not writing heartbreaking she’s writing nail biting but one thing for sure is I always know that it will be a page-turner and this one is no different!

I was left wanting to know what happened next right from page 1.

I won’t lie romance is not normally a style I would usually reach for but this so much more. It combines drama, a thrill, romance and a little spice.

It has such well rounded characters, even if they weren’t all likeable and I didn’t expect anything less. Traci always creates such strong characters.

The latest @tarosewoodauthor hit is out and if it's not heartbreaking, it's nail-biting! But in her own true style, it's addictive, with a range of emotions and characters!

There's a billionaire businessman, an attentive assistant, a wicked wife and some sassy sisters.

There is only so much a person can take and when the pressure gets too much, revenge seems to be the only option. But how will it be served? Seeing how it all unfolds keeps you reading late into the night, because once you start this one, you can't stop!

I love a book that creates such strong feelings towards characters. There are some I couldn't take to at all - Chloe for one and I'm still unsure about Julian. I'm not sure I ever fully warmed to Erika, but I certainly admired her strength and determination! For me, this is a true sign of a great writer, when a fictional character can evoke such strong emotions in a reader.

As well as storylines (where does she get them from?!) and beautifully evocative descriptions (always feel like I'm wherever is being described) Traci has a way of writing characters that is so powerful, I have to remind myself they're not real people... it's a book!!

If you're looking for your next hit of strong, brilliant women, with a storyline to hook you in, His Best Kept Secret needs to be on your TBR.

I Just Bought 4 Copies of My Own Book on Vinted (And I Have No Regrets)

Being an author comes with a lot of surreal milestones. Holding your proof copy for the first time? Unforgettable. Seeing your first 5-star review? Electric.

Searching Vinted for cute autumn knitwear and coming across four copies of your own books... all listed by the exact same seller? Completely unhinged.

Naturally, my brain went straight to: Who is this mysterious person who apparently bought these four, devoured them, or is now clearing out their shelf space?! Did they love them? Did they hate them? Did they just need space for more paperbacks? Either way, I couldn't let someone else snatch up my book babies, so I bought the entire lot back.

When I first saw the listing, my brain went through a quick three-stage emotional roller coaster:

Offence: "Wait, someone parted with my book babies?!"
Realisation: "Hold on... that means a real person actually bought, held, and read my stories!"
Action: "I am executing a top-secret author rescue mission right now."

There’s something surprisingly magical about seeing secondhand copies of your work out in the wild. You notice the creased spines, the slightly softened corners, and the knowledge that my stories may have kept someone company on a commute, in bed late at night, or over a weekend coffee.

Plus, let’s be honest: buying your own books secondhand is just smart business! Once these copies arrive back home, I’ll be signing them, stamping them, and saving them for special giveaways.

To whoever sold them on Vinted: thank you for giving my stories a home first! And to my fellow authors: if you haven't searched your own name on secondhand apps yet... consider this your warning. It’s an addiction!

Reflections & Reactions: My 2026 Memoir Reading List (So Far)

There is something deeply captivating about stepping into someone else's world through a memoir, but let’s be honest: not every book is a winner! My reading list this year has been full of high-profile biographies, emotional rollercoasters, and a whole lot of Elvis history.

Here is my honest breakdown of the memoirs I have picked up so far in 2026—the good, the okay, and the ones I couldn't even finish!

1. Being Elvis: A Lonely Life by Ray Connolly

My Reaction: 🤩
Hands down my favourite read on the list! Ray Connolly captured Elvis’s world so brilliantly. It was captivating, thoughtful, and deeply engaging from start to finish.

2. Loving Amy: A Mother's Story by Janis Winehouse

My Reaction: 😢
A deeply poignant read, though emotionally tough. It gave the impression that Janis didn't have much say in what Amy did or enough power to step in and protect her, leaving you feeling so sad for their whole family.

3. A Little Thing Called Life by Linda Thompson

My Reaction: 🤔
The Vibe: This one was just OK for me! Linda has an interesting life story, and while it didn't completely blow me away, it was a pleasant, easy peek behind the Hollywood curtain.

4. This Is Me: A Reckoning by Hayden Panettiere

My Reaction: 😔
The Vibe: A sad read. Walking through Hayden’s story leaves you with the painful feeling that she rarely had true, lasting friends looking out for her throughout her short life.

5. Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis by Priscilla Beaulieu Presley

My Reaction: 🧐
The Vibe: Definitely one of the better Elvis-related reads on my list! However, Priscilla included a few intimate details and random facts that really felt unnecessary to share with the world.

6. Bombshell: The Night Bobby Kennedy Killed Marilyn Monroe by Mike Rothmiller & Douglas Thompson

My Reaction: 🫣
The Vibe: I actually couldn't bring myself to finish this one. I was expecting a juicy look into Hollywood mystery, but I got so bored with all the dry police talk and procedure that I ended up setting it aside.

7. Elvis & Ginger by Ginger Alden

My Reaction: 🌀
The Vibe: I didn't really enjoy this book. Ginger came across as surprisingly negative toward Elvis, which made it a tough and somewhat off-putting read compared to the other biographies.

How I Ended Up Owing Amazon Money!

If you’ve ever wondered what the glamour of being an independent author looks like behind the curtain, let me paint you a picture! 🎨💸

I logged onto my Amazon KDP dashboard this morning to check on how my books were doing over in the US. Nestled right there in the stats was a sight every indie author recognises with a deep sigh: a paperback return for Country Hearts.

Now, Country Hearts retails for £9.99 ($11.99 in the US). Out of that retail price, once printing costs and Amazon’s share are taken out, my author royalty comes to £2.91.

So when someone bought that copy, I earned £2.91. But when they returned it? Amazon deducted that royalty straight back out of my account. Because royalties are processed on a delay, that single return pushed my daily balance right into the negative! 📈📉

I am officially in debt to Jeff Bezos for two pounds and ninety-one pence. 😅

The world of publishing is funny like that. When you buy a paperback from an indie author, read it, and send it back, it doesn't just return to a shop shelf, it impacts the writer directly. But honestly, as frustrating as it is in the moment, all you can really do is laugh!

It’s all part of the wild ride of putting your work out into the world.

When you launch a novel into the world, you never quite know where it’s going to end up. You hope it lands on bedside tables, on rainy-day sofas, or in packed suitcases heading off on holiday. But most of all, you hope it connects.

Recently, I received a message passed along from a reader who took my debut novel, Reasonable Lies, on holiday with them. It’s the kind of message every writer secretly dreams of getting:

"So you know how I said to read this book… please don’t read Reasonable Lies! 😂 I’ve spent the whole time crying round the pool reading it. It was probably one of the most emotional books I’ve ever read 😭... the book had me captured from the first page."

First of all: my sincere apologies to anyone around that sunbed! 😅

Writing Reasonable Lies was a deeply emotional journey for me. Putting Jane's story on the page meant pouring raw heart, vulnerability, and honesty into every chapter. When you write a story that touches on heavy truths, love, and protection, you hope readers feel that weight right alongside the characters.

To hear that someone was sitting poolside, completely lost in the story, reaching for tissues, and wanting to send their physical copies back to be signed... that is pure magic.

As authors, we spend months (sometimes years) alone with our characters, wondering: Will anyone else care about them as much as I do?

Messages like this are a gentle reminder of why we put our hearts on the page in the first place. Reaching a reader’s emotions so deeply that they feel compelled to stop everything, reach out, and recommend the book to others is the highest compliment I could ever ask for.
