Well, I'm back from my travels and the big 50 celebration.

While we were driving through various towns, we noticed how Halloween is so big over in the USA.

My first little Maggie Mouse book has sold over 220 copies in the United States too so it inspired me to write a new story for her.

So, after my inspiring day in London, I have now got the first draft of my new book ready.

I've already had one person read through and she LOVED it.

Now I just have to finish tweaking the edits, the cover and blurb [the last one kills me every time].

Sunset ladies or Rustic items...

As some of you may already know from my social media, on Sunday, 13th July we lost our beloved "little scruff," Robbie, who passed away peacefully in his sleep.

For 15 wonderful years, Robbie brought an abundance of love, sometimes playful mischief, and so much joy into our home. Many a time he would sit beside me or under my desk while I wrote. The next one is in your honour little ‘bobbles.’

We are heartbroken to no longer have his floppy ears, wagging tail, and gentle presence by our side....

My writing journey began at thirteen with a short story called “Looks Aren’t Everything” – a dramatic tale of teenage love that probably involved far too many exclamation marks and not enough actual plot!

Then came my memorable GCSE English exam, where I was asked to write a two-page story. Clearly, I missed the memo about brevity being the soul of wit, because I handed in thirty pages! The story was called “The Runaway” – rather fitting, as my words have never learned to behave and stay...

My Self-Publishing Show Experience

You know that feeling when something unexpectedly wonderful happens? Well, that's exactly how I felt when I won two tickets to the Self-Publishing Show! Me – who never wins anything, not even a raffle at the village fête – suddenly had golden tickets to one of the biggest events in the indie publishing world.

So on 25th June, the hubby and I set off for London, armed with notebooks, enthusiasm, and a healthy appetite for both knowledge and a good meal. And...

There's something deeply vulnerable about sitting behind a table with stacks of your novels—stories you've poured your heart into—waiting to see if anyone will stop by. Will they pick up your books? Will they connect with the characters who have lived in your head for so long?

As a self-published author who typically connects with readers through a screen, Saturday's Indie Author Book Fair in Huntingdon was a leap into the unknown. And what a magnificent leap it turned out to be.
